Bridges: A School for Exploration and Equity (MS 915) is a highly-rated middle school in Brooklyn, recognized for its strong academic performance and innovative approach to learning. The school consistently outperforms city and state averages in academic proficiency, ranking among the top middle schools in New York. Students demonstrate high proficiency in both ELA and Math, with a significant percentage engaging in accelerated coursework, well above citywide medians. The curriculum emphasizes inquiry-based research, collaborative problem-solving, and twice-yearly exploration units that include field trips and guest speakers. All students receive visual arts instruction, and 7th and 8th graders study Spanish. Eighth graders also have the opportunity to take Living Environment and Algebra Regents courses. Parents describe a phenomenal school with happy students, praising the administration and teachers for their support. The school fosters student voice through a student government and utilizes Restorative Justice practices. While the school excels academically and in family relationships, student survey results indicate some concerns regarding safety in hallways and the prevalence of bullying. The school moved to a new, fully accessible building at 491 Dean Street in 2024.
