Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing and engaging early learning environment that effectively supports the diverse needs of children; develop the potential within each child and to work closely with parents/caregivers to realize this potential, regardless of disability or disadvantage; provide an environment in which every child can experience the pleasure of play, the building of friendships and the joy of learning through experience and discovery; offer opportunities for children to become caring and contributing members of their families and their communities; collaborate with other organizations and individuals both within the educational and political arenas, who are engaged in securing additional resources to expand quality programs for preschool children; explore possibilities for partnering with public and private schools at the elementary level, in order to provide a smooth transition between preschool and school-based programs. Children who live in NYC are eligible to begin 3-K during the fall of the calendar year they turn 3. There are different types of seats available in 3-K programs; some programs may offer more than one seat type, and you can list them separately on your application. NYCEECs are required to have staff trained in basic first aid, CPR, Epi-Pen administration, and Medication Administration Training if an enrolled student requires medication during the school day.
